Dr. Efird is a 1987 graduate of the University of North Carolina Dental School. Prior to dental school he earned a degree in chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill. Since dental school Dr. Efird has stayed current with the latest developments in dentistry by attending hundreds of hours of continuing education. For the last ten years he has focused his educational efforts on aesthetics and advanced restorative treatment. Dr. Efird has completed course work at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, The Nash Institute, the Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Study, and the UNC Academy for Advanced Clinical Dentistry. In January 2008 Dr. Efird completed the clinical program-Core I Advanced Functional Restorative Dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

Dr. Efird is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

When not in the office Dr. Efird enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. The family enjoys boating, fishing and outdoor activities. After attending boat building school in Maine, Dr. Efird launched his own boat building project and little by little has a new boat taking shape.
